Good All Around

I have to say, I was very impressed with this game. I like the experimental part of it, and I think you basically succeeded. I didn't think it was that hard to figure out. No stage took me more than 2-3 minutes.

Story-wise, it was interesting, but I'm still not entirely sure about the whole plot. Then again, I'm no literary genius so there's probably something there I'm just not seeing.

I like the art style; there were some very cool string-like effects and the music fit the game perfectly.

I also have to say that you must have some serious programming skills, with all of those mouse gestures and string effects. You really took advantage of AS3.

Interesting

I liked the game. Neat idea. The graphical quality overall was very nice and had a very clean look.

There were just a few tiny things that flawed the presentation though. The into screen didn't seem to fit the rest of the game, and the lettering for the grades didn't match (maybe I just don't have the font that was used, or something).

Other than those tiny issues, great game.

An Interesting Take on Resource Management

I really liked the idea behind the whole game, with the selecting of flowers. The control scheme (i.e. the way you choose colors) was also very intuitive. I also enjoyed the crayon-like art style.

The only things I didn't like were the length, difficulty, and lack of upgrades. This game easily could have been twice as long, and with added upgrades such as faster plant production, which would have made the game a little easier as well. Then there could have been more use for the points system besides high scores.

Other than that though, I really enjoyed the game.

Entertaining, and Great Music

I really liked the game. I think it was a great idea. The music really contributed to the overall tone of the game. I especially liked the main menu music.

The only problem I really had was that the time limit was way too short. I think there should be options for a 1, 3, and 5 minute game, and having separate leaderboards for each would add to the lasting value of the game. You would probably have to cap the maximum growth though - if you had a five minute game, I'm sure you could eventually fill up the whole screen with yourself :)

Cool Idea and Good Puzzle Game

I really liked the whole idea for the puzzle game, with the space setting at all. The background sound were pretty cool and gave the game a distinct feel. However, those sounds did get looped a bit too often, so you could have used a longer loop. Not a big complaint though.

The only problems I had with the game are those of convenience. I would have liked to be able to snap to certain rotations, or enter in a number if I knew what I wanted. For example, at one point I wanted a 45 degree angle to shoot a beam straight up, but I couldn't quite get it and had to fool around a bit. Also, the movement of the individual parts was a bit annoying, as I wish I could steer them in any direction with the wasd keys, and the rotate with the arrow keys or something. I didn't like it how the two were linked. The current controls do give it a "spacey" feel, but still a little annoying when you consider this is a game about being precise.

All of these end up being minor complaints, though. I still thought it was a very good game. Keep up the good work.

Good Gameplay, Poor Graphics

The only thing that's really holding this game back is the visuals. They just look like your average, poorly drawn flash graphics (especially the temple). However, the death animations were done really well - I wish just as much time would have been put into drawing the rest of the game.

Other than the graphics though, this game was actually quite good. It was addictive, and I liked all of the options you had for upgrading the weapons. The game seemed well-balanced, but making it a little more challenging would have been a little better.

Good, But Needs Some Balancing

I lked the game, but I had trouble getting through. There just simply wasn't enough ammo. Before I got the grenade launcher, I was forced to make most of my kills with the knife because I had no pistol ammo (and I didn't even waste many shots). Needless to say, even with the grenade launcher, I didn't last long because my health was simply too low.

With a little more balancing, you could make this an even better game. There's other ways to make games challenging besides limiting ammo.

JaggedBladeSoftware responds:

The idea is that you use the knife at the start on the weak enemies and save up ammo for later.

Fun for 2 Minutes

This game was fun for about 2 minutes. Not to be a jerk or anything, but it just got boring after a while. All there was to do was spin the mouse around in a circle. You need some sort of additional activity going on. Spinning and occasionally clicking just isn't that fun.

CrazyChihuahua responds:

Ya, it's as simple as spinning in a circle, so ya, it can get a bit repetitive I suppose.

Thanks for reviewing though.

Fun Game

Definitely a great game. I like how you put in the multiple performance options besides the built-in quality settings. I was dissapointed though that I experienced some stuttering on my Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz) on the highest settings. If you could offer a downloadable .exe, that would be great.

Otherwise, awesome. Loved the idea of strategically placing turrets so you you can cover all sides of the planet.

Nice Style and Addicitive Gameplay

Definitely liking the art style. Just the overall abstract look combined with the music come together to create an amazing presentation. The gameplay itself was fast and furious, as well as addictive. Overall, I really liked it.

Definitely on my favorites list.
