Addictive

After getting every single upgrade and getting my health to 12500 on endless mode, I saw no further need to continue :) Needless to say, this game is very addictive, and I really like the upgrade system. Each upgrade produced a noticeable difference and made you feel more and more powerful. I also really liked all of the various enemy types. There were more than enough to keep things fresh.

Different, But Poorly Put Together

The game was pretty good, and I like the idea of having a powerful hero character. But the fact is, the hero is just way too powerful and the towers are too weak. The entire game becomes a race to get enough towers to weaken the enemy and chase the rest down with your hero to finish them off. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have such a limited amount of time to hunt them down before the next wave, and all of the micromanagement with the hero leaves you no time to upgrade your towers. Then, when you add in the powerplants, it messes you up even more because when you want to upgrade your towers with the little time you have, you have to spend it instead building power plants.

The idea was good, and don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad game. I still played it for a good 20 minutes. It was just too poorly structured to the point where it was too hard to do what you wanted to do.

Good and Gory

Wow, this game is like Trauma Center meets Saw. It may be gory, but the gore really does add to the experience. I mean, a Civil War medic's job wasn't exactly pretty, was it? I really like the artwork, and the game itself was challenging enough to forgive the fact that it only has like 3 levels. I really liked the last level though. "Then Prove It" - Great line.

Overall, drastically better than the first. I'm looking forward to a third.

Nice "Adventure" I Guess, But Lacks Good Looks

The adventure itself was ok, but not particularly interesting. The area this game lacked most in was the drawing. I don't know what else to say except to draw better. I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but when you have a game where the look of it is very important, such as this one, and all you have are still frames, a little more effort should go into it beside some quickly drawn objects and poor use of gradient fills.

Challenging, Fun, Puzzle Game

I really liked it. I love the concept, and you really pulled it off well. As far as I played, the difficulty ramped up nicely, providing the right increase in challenge.

I also really like the whole 3D thing, as well as the little touches such as the distortortion of the trees through the glass of the cube.

The only complaint I have it the whole setting. This is one of those games that doesn't even really need a setting, and the one you chose gave me this weird tranquil vibe that I don't think really fits the game. The color descriptions in between leveles were a nice touch though.

Cool Idea, But Not Fully Realized

I really like the idea of moving stuff around, but I think this game could have been a lot more. I mean, why just boxes? I know they're the easiest to apply physics to, but balls are pretty easy too. Maybe if there's balls in it, you could have slopes that would provide additional obstacles? I don't know, it just didn't seem like it met it's full potential. I also didn't like the rubber-band feeling with the box grab.

Despite all of that though, I still enjoyed the game. The puzzles were pretty cool, if not a bit jumbled in difficulty. But seriously, I did really enjoy it.

Superb Adaptation; Level Editor Please :)

This was definitely a great adaptation of Portal into 2D. The guys who made portal said that they made a 2D model of it first - I wonder if it was like this? The only thing I wished you had was it's sense of humor. Of course not everyone is a comdian, but it would have been nice, as humor is one of the great things about Portal (only thing keeping you from a 10).

I was actually thinking about making a 2D version of the game back when I saw the commercials, and I would still love to make an isometric one. Platforming's never been my thing though :(.

I don't know if you could flesh this out a bit more, but I had an idea where you could get the whole "half in on one side, half out on the other" by duplicating the movie clip to the other side, while moving a transparent mask to cover parts, then repositioning the original movie clip and deleting the duplicated one when more than half of you passes through. This is only an idea though - I plan on testing it soon , but seeing as you already have a basic engine of sorts for it, maybe you could try it out and tell me if it works.

Great for New Animators

I really think this is great for people who are new to animation. I myself am pretty good at coding things, but I never was really good at animation. My favorite part had to be the frame-by-frame view of the animations. The blood one was particularly nice. Thanks.

Glad you liked it!

Really Hard, Yet Really Cool

This game was a little too hard for my tastes. I couldn't even get past the first level (can barely get past the robot mini-boss). However, I still love playing it for some reason. I think what I like most about it is the art style, which is just plain cool. The game mechanics are solid, no problems with the controls, and the sound was good enough. If only it wasn't so darn difficult. :)

Also, I know this review isn't for the console version, but I have to say that I whole-heartedly recommend that game. I got the Xbox Live Arcade version, and I already played through it twice! Definitely worth $10.

Repetitive and Bland, Yet Interesting

The game gets very repetitive very quickly. I don't understand the battle system at all (it seems to be luck or something), and I just ended up using kick or katana all the time. Of course, battles were really easy to avoid, but I didn't find the stealth action all that fun. The patterns were too easy to recognize (although some seemed completely random). The environments were really bland too. It was all too gray and, again, repetitive.

On a positive note though, the character drawings and death animations were really cool. Also, the game did have my attention for the first few minutes simply because of the ninja-cool factor. Still, I can't really recommend this game to anybody. Mabye you should vary your environments a little more and make encounters less easy to avoid. A more action-y battle system would do the game justice as well.
